Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and have a strong background in invoice collection workflow, customer contract review, and general ledger account reconciliation. This role requires a proactive approach to managing collections, accounts payable, and expenses, along with effective communication skills for engaging with customers and internal teams. The Senior Accountant will play a critical role in ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance while efficiently managing multiple deadlines.

Responsibilities:

  • Utilize Microsoft Excel for financial analysis, including XLOOKUP, SUMIFS, COUNT, PivotTables, conditional formatting, and data validation.
  • Copy, format, and organize Excel workpapers efficiently to support financial reporting and analysis.
  • Manage invoice collection workflow, including:
    • Applying collections in financial systems (Intacct and NetSuite).
    • Following up with customers on outstanding invoices.
    • Sending invoices and tracking payments to ensure timely collection.
  • Review customer contracts to verify billing accuracy, payment terms, and compliance with financial policies.
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts, identify discrepancies, and ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Manage accounts payable (AP), expenses, and corporate credit cards, maintaining accurate records and timely payments.
  • Utilize Outlook for email management, scheduling follow-ups, and organizing internal and external communications.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred. CPA certification is a plus.
  • Proven experience as a Senior Accountant or in a similar role with a strong focus on collections, accounts payable, and general ledger reconciliation.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions (XLOOKUP, SUMIFS, COUNT, PivotTables, conditional formatting, and data validation).
  • Experience with financial systems such as Intacct and NetSuite are highly preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify inconsistencies in financial data.
  • Excellent organizational skills with a proactive approach to managing collections and follow-ups.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills for interacting with customers and cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines efficiently.
