Position Summary

The Estimator will play a critical role in supporting project success by analyzing client-provided packages and plans, breaking them into specialized sub-packages, and coordinating with subcontractors to secure accurate tenders. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with strong analytical skills, construction industry knowledge, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. The role demands proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, excellent communication skills, and a solid foundation in estimations or quantity surveying.

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM
Location: Bridgetowne, Quezon City
Additional Notes:

  • Australian (AU) holidays will be observed for this account.
  • Up to a 4 week shutdown occurs annually, starting just prior to Christmas.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and interpret packages and plans submitted by clients to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Segment packages into specialized sub-packages, including but not limited to electrical, plumbing, floor covering, painting, joinery, glazing, and mechanical components.
  • Distribute sub-packages to 2-3 subcontractors per category for tender submissions.
  • Address subcontractor inquiries during the tender phase, providing clear and timely responses.
  • Review and cross-check subcontractor tenders to confirm all requirements are met and accounted for.
  • Compile finalized packages and tenders for review by the Project Manager prior to submission to the client.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering or quantity surveying a related field.
  • Experience:
    • Open to fresh graduates; no prior professional experience required.
    • Familiarity with reading construction plans (through coursework, internships, or projects) is an advantage.
    • Exposure to breaking tenders into sub-packages (e.g., via academic projects or training) is a plus.
    • Knowledge of the construction or building industry, particularly costing, is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
    • High mathematical aptitude for calculations and cost analysis.
  • Communication: Good written and verbal English skills.
  • Key Competencies: Detail-oriented, methodical, eager to learn, and capable of working collaboratively in a team environment.
