Position Summary
The Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for both residential and commercial construction projects in the U.S. This role requires a strong understanding of construction materials, methods, and market pricing, with particular emphasis on New Jersey or New York projects. The ideal candidate will have proven U.S. estimating experience and the ability to work independently in a remote environment with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities
- Research, prepare, and deliver detailed and competitive cost estimates for residential and commercial projects.
- Review and interpret project plans, drawings, and specifications to define and clarify scope of work.
- Perform cost build-up, including pricing for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor work.
- Conduct risk analysis and factor potential risks into estimates.
- Prepare accurate bid proposals and submissions within deadlines.
- Evaluate subcontractor and supplier bids to ensure cost efficiency and compliance with specifications.
- Maintain cost data and benchmarks in the company’s estimating database for consistency and future reference.
- Ensure estimating accuracy by applying appropriate metrics, local pricing, and prevailing wage rates.
- Use PlanSwift
or similar estimating software to perform quantity takeoffs and cost analyses.
- Coordinate closely with project stakeholders to align on estimates and address clarifications.
- Uphold high levels of confidentiality and professionalism in handling sensitive project data.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience in construction estimating for U.S.-based projects.
- Experience with both residential and commercial projects required.
- Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and cost structures.
- Familiarity with New Jersey or New York pricing and codes preferred, though candidates with general U.S. estimating experience who can research and adapt to local pricing will also be considered.
- Proficiency with PlanSwift or similar estimating tools.
- Excellent analytical, mathematical, and attention-to-detail skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple bids simultaneously in a remote setup.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is an advantage.
