Position Summary:
The Fleet and Logistics Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and managing the company’s fleet of vehicles to ensure efficient, safe, and cost-effective operations. This includes procurement, maintenance, compliance, fuel management, and optimization of fleet usage for a light national industrial business operating across multiple locations.

Responsibilities:
Fleet Operations Management:
- Direct onboarding requirements for new drivers and new fleet vehicles
- Monitor fleet operations and data operations for compliance
- Monitor vehicle KPIs and usage for fleet optimization
- Design and monitor driver and vehicle fleet reporting and analysis
- Implement strategies to reduce costs and improve fleet utilization.
Vehicle replacement, Maintenance and Repairs:
- Develop and manage a preventative maintenance schedule for all vehicles.
- Develop and manage vehicle replacement strategies with the fleet management provider
- Oversee vehicle repairs, ensuring work is completed on time and within budget.
- Monitor the performance of service providers and mechanics for quality assurance.
Compliance and Safety:
- Advantageous experience: USA DOT: Ensure fleet operations comply with local, state, and federal regulations (e.g., DOT standards) Nice to have
- Advantageous experience: Maintain accurate records for inspections, licensing, registration, and certifications.
- Promote a culture of safety by implementing safety training and ensuring drivers adhere to protocols.
Fleet Optimization and Technology:
- Leverage fleet management software to monitor performance, track vehicles, and generate reports.
- Identify and implement strategies to optimize routing, fuel consumption, and fleet lifecycle.
- Research and recommend innovative solutions to improve operational efficiency.
Budgeting and Cost Control:
- Manage the fleet budget, including procurement, fuel, maintenance, and repairs.
- Monitor expenses and implement cost-saving measures without compromising service quality.
- Negotiate contracts with suppliers and vendors for parts, services, and fuel.
Driver Management and Support:
- Support driver training and manage drivers, ensuring compliance with company standards.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and address driver concerns proactively.
- Monitor and enforce compliance with driving laws, hours of service, and company policies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Business Administration, or related field (preferred).
- 3-5 years of experience in fleet management or logistics, preferably in an industrial or national business setting.
- Proven experience managing light to medium-duty vehicle fleets.
- Strong knowledge of fleet management systems and tools.
- Familiarity with regulations governing fleet operations (e.g., DOT, HOS).
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and multitasking abilities.
- Effective communication and leadership skills to manage teams and vendor relationships.
- Analytical mindset for data-driven decision-making and cost optimization.
