Position Overview:
Covered Health is seeking an experienced and certified coder with extensive knowledge of eClinicalWorks (eCW) and at least one year of experience in OBGYN coding. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who excels in accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. As a Certified Coder, you will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy of coding for patient encounters, procedures, and services while maximizing reimbursements and supporting our commitment to quality healthcare.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coding and Compliance:
- Review and assign accurate codes for diagnoses, procedures, and services in eClinicalWorks, adhering to ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS standards.
- Ensure coding complies with all legal regulations and company policies.
- OBGYN Coding Expertise:
- Apply specialized knowledge in OBGYN coding, ensuring accurate and comprehensive coding for women’s health services.
- Stay updated on the latest coding changes and industry practices related to OBGYN.
- Revenue Optimization:
- Identify and report potential revenue enhancements, ensuring the organization captures maximum allowable reimbursements.
- Support the Revenue Cycle Management team in minimizing claim denials and rejections through accurate and compliant coding practices.
- Documentation Review and Collaboration:
- Work closely with providers and clinical staff to ensure accurate and thorough documentation for proper coding.
- Provide feedback and education on coding and documentation best practices as needed.
- Quality Assurance and Audits:
- Conduct periodic audits of coded data and documentation for accuracy and compliance.
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives to uphold coding and documentation standards.
Requirements:
- Certification:
CPC, CCS, or other recognized medical coding certification.
- Experience:
Minimum of 1 year of coding experience in OBGYN.
- Software Proficiency: Extensive experience with eClinicalWorks (eCW).
- Knowledge:
Familiarity with ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding standards and guidelines.
- Skills:
Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to work independently.
- Communication:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills for collaborating with clinical staff and providing coding feedback.
