This role is responsible for accurate charge entry, payment posting, claims processing, and reconciliation while maintaining compliance with established standards. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Promptly respond to information requests internally and externally.
- Accurately enter charges from superbills and demographic reports.
- Apply payer-specific data including modifiers, CPT, ICD-9, and ICD-10 codes, and authorization requirements.
- Process charge batches and reconcile discrepancies across all billing systems.
- Track and follow up on information requests to and from the practice.
- Meet supervisor-set goals regarding error-free work, compliance, and process adherence.
- Post payments accurately and in a timely manner.
- Handle patient phone calls related to billing inquiries.
- Process claims efficiently and accurately.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required:
- 3–5 years of experience in a U.S. healthcare provider or medical billing firm environment.
- Hands-on experience with Accounts Receivable (AR) processes.
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new systems.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while being an effective team player.
Preferred:
- Prior experience in payment posting and claims processing.
- Familiarity with U.S. healthcare billing regulations and payer requirements.
